FUNK-E [zoo project/underground]
Funk E likes to call himself a Romanian gypsy that developed into a DJ. Being born in Bucharest in 1977 he was attracted to music since his early childhood. All his rather unique life he was surrounded by jazz and funk, following his path to the turn tables in 2002. Although he initiated his career with funk he soon discovered house music was the direction he wanted to go to- he wanted to give house music a touch of jazz and funk and so started producing his own music.
Within the last seven years Funk E dedicated all of his time to music working together with Hector Moralez and TBF and playing in a whole series of clubs in Romania:
Nemo, The Spot, Space, Cuando, Propaganda, Posh si in tara, la: XS (Iasi), Zebra (Bacau), Pacha (Galati), Medieval & Krypton (Craiova), Avi Cola (Tg. Mures), Oscar, No Problem & Heaven (Constanta), Kudos (Mamaia), La Ferma (Calarasi)
In 2003 Ibiza turned out to be a fundamental influence to his style, marking his style to techhouse, house and Chicago house. Finally in the summer of 2008 Funke E had his debut in Ibiza playing for Ibiza’s underground music and open air parties the Zoo Project.
The future has lots to bring: This June he will present releases for The Factory and for Adult in September. This summer he can be seen in Ibiza playing for the Zoo Project and for Madame Tina’s party Nirvana in Las Dalias. Also the new venue Delano Beach Club is delivering some excellent parties this summer where Funk E will be playing along with DJs such as Nima Gorji, David Sanchez, Rui Da Silva and many more…
